Matt Connors is one of my favorite artists out there. From his recent residency:
American painter Matt Connors who has occupied a recidency at Krabbesholm for two months during the spring term 2010 has arranged an exhibition at the end of his project in Four Boxes Gallery.
Matt Connors is educated from Yale University and works within a classic modernistic tradition starting from artists like Ellsworth Kelly, Kenneth Noland and Jasper Johns. His paintings are based on geometric shapes and pure colors to which he deliberately adds a sloppy handmade dimension.
The exhibition primarily shows small scale paintings, together with photography and sculpture.
You can see the rest of the work here.
